The Wild Side.....

Whilst I've always been an admirer of beautiful manicured gardens, it seems that I'm actually more of a "wild gardener"

Organised chaos or wildlife friendly

These have just appeared this year....any idea what they are?

My "hedgerow corner"

This is ALL over the place, good job I like purple!

These are just so cheerful

Beautiful roses growing in the most inconvenient places!

Living the "Good Life"

These smell amazing

Crafting is on the back burner at the moment due to new visitors.......
lets just say that one of them had commandeered my craft room!!

Faeries, come take me out of this dull world....

......William Butler Yeats

Although I am an artist, crafter, dreamer, maker of lots of disciplines, mediums and themes my heart and creative flow are currently away with the fairies.....

p.s. The paintings will be in my Folksy shop soon, unless someone wants to buy them first.

Be calm.....

Having battled the joys of trying to upload and add new items to my Folksy site whilst only using a tablet,  I've decided to be calm and carry on....

So.....

My new paintings are below,  if you like any of them and wish to purchase, please contact me on missmerrydown@gmail.com

"These are original paintings from my "Be...." series.

I have been exploring the idea of inspirational paintings that give a positive message and after some tweaking, I'm finally ready to let them fly out into the world.

These images are painted using predominantly watercolours, although sometimes they need a little sparkle and other mediums creep in.

They are painted on Daler & Rowney watercolour paper and mounted in a off white mount, ready to frame.
Overall size, including mount is 10" x 12" or 28cm x 33cm.

They will be well protected when shipped to ensure that they arrive at their new home safe and sound ready to inspire!

All these images are copyright protected and the buyer is not entitled to reproduction rights.

Each is image costs £15.00 + postage"

Much love

Reboot........

Now where the hell have I been?

I've moved house, which took some adjustment, but I love it!

The sunsets are just terrible and the garden is large and mostly vertical, but I did manage to grow potatoes and strawberries last year.

I still have a room dedicated to all things art and craft.

It's not as big as the last one, but it is my happy space. Lots of creative stuff is happening here.

I've spent a large part of the year sitting in the sun doing this

I've been working on some new ideas with some Harris Tweed

I've still been making my fairies and will be looking to market them properly in the very near future!

The fairy brand has recently branched out a bit as well....

Again, I'll be looking at selling these types of images soon as well....I'll keep you posted!!

So, whilst it seems its all been quiet on the missmerrydown front, its actually been a time of reflection, soul searching, gentle creativity and naps.

All in all, I've just been rebooting my life.

Solar Eclipse....time to reboot.

All you need is faith and trust...

and a little bit of pixie dust!

Or a little bit of Fairy dust to be precise.

Sometimes you just need to switch off from all the drama and immerse yourself in the land of make believe.

"Sabbatical......

or a sabbatical (from Latin sabbaticus, from Greek sabbatikos, from Hebrew shabbat, i.e., Sabbath, literally a "ceasing") is a rest from work, or a break, often lasting from two months to a year."

That's where I've been, on a blogging sabbatical.

That doesn't mean I haven't been doing anything and just lying on the sofa stuffing my face and watching mindless TV. (Well, actually I have been doing a lot of the last thing)

It was a sort of enforced break from blogging as my computer has gone nuts and has developed a mind of it's own.

I've been doing more of this:

I actually sold a couple of these from my Folksy site, which was exciting!!
They make me feel content when I'm making them, happy little flowers!!

Maybe they're my equivalent of Bob Ross's Happy Little Trees?

I've still been working on my Little Woman images. There is a possibility that a local shop may want to take some!!

There has also been some Craftivism going on....

And a bit of flag making...

Flag can be seen in all it's glory HERE
(It's the second to last picture)

It's been good to have a break, but now I'm back on it (like a car bonnet!!)

Be joyful.....

And still the sun is shining....

Clouds over Dartmoor

Contrail...hope they are flying to somewhere as lovely as here

I've been working on my paintings....

Finished and framed

I'm really loving creating these paintings, they are bringing a little joy to my life. (I've been struggling to find the joy this week. I've allowed myself to get caught up in other people's drama and shit, which, in turn, has made me angry and annoyed. To quote a friend . "It's not yours S, you don't have to deal with it" This will be my mantra whilst at the 9-5 job)

Works in progress

I received in the post this week my Mini Protest Banner from the Craftivist Collective. I'm going to be taking part in their Summer/Autumn Project. I can't wait to get started!!!

The goodies inside

In amongst my doom and gloom moments this week I have been finding inspiration and enthusiasm from Anastacia Drake, She is a motivated, dedicated artist and rule breaker...go and check out her work!!

I was also incredibly stoked to be involved in this project for Tony Plant. With a little help from his friends and strangers, he managed to raise enough founds to buy essential equipment that meant he could continue to show his art to the world. And it was funny to see my name in one of his artworks!!

See if you can see me:  here
